Souls Collide

I’ve met a lot of lovely people
On this winding journey Home
All the time, they teach me
New things I’ve never known
Even truths quite old.

My heart has ached many times
But they soothe it with their steady eyes
As they peer deeply into mine
And our souls heal as they collide.

Heartfelt words and open ears
Meet what I’ve stored up inside
As my heart beats to another’s rhythm
In peace once more I now abide.

Thank you, friend, for healing me
For showing I’m worthy of your time
My heart still freshly weeps within me
When someone, to it, is kind.
